session tips |
Variety is the Spice of Life Choose a variety of outfits and colors. Bring at least one “classic” outfit, something that will not make you wonder what you were thinking in 10 years! For some this is jeans and a button down, for others it’s the classic black dress! Uniquely You Bring an outfit that is uniquely you- be it formal, fun or even wild. Your Imagination is the Only Limit Bring props that represent you- guitars, vehicles, uniforms, balls, poms, pets- use your imagination! (But please, warn us ahead of time if you are bringing Fluffy…) Dress it Up - Dress it Down Bring your favorite jacket or sweater. It may be warm outside, but we still suggest long sleeves for at least one portrait. Having a jacket on hand instantly adds variety, an additional outfit, and is flattering on most people. la' Natural Girls- natural makeup is best. We want you to look like you. We refer to it as your best everyday look. But please bring anything needed for touchups, especially powder, mascara and gloss. Burn Baby Burn We know summer is approaching, but please, watch out for sunburns, tan lines and extremely dark fake tans. Whoa! We can’t stress it enough- avoid bold prints. We want to showcase individual personalities, but loud prints distract from your face. We always recommend solids, but if you love prints, try to keep them simple with less colors or variance in the range of colors. This will keep more focus on your face. Details....Details.... Guys- don’t forget belts and class or championship rings. Girls- bring those accessories! We love fun hats, jewelry, scarves- anything. Just know ahead of time what they go with so you don’t waste session time trying to pick things out in the dressing room. You miss out on extra time we can be taking more great photos of you! Freshly Trimmed? Don’t get a haircut the day before your session- or even the week before; it may not turn out how you expected. We recommend you go at least 2 weeks before your session. The same goes for trying out a new hair color. |
